The OnePlus Nord is a mid-range offering from the smartphone company OnePlus, which only used to offer premium and high-end phones earlier. With the launch of OnePlus Nord, the company has shifted its focus and started following a new market strategy. The smartphone was already hyped before the launch, due to many leaked specs and estimates of affordable pricing. The smartphone’s launch was also unique in itself, as the device was launched through an AR event, which was the first one of its kind. Soon after the launch on July 21, 2020, the company announced that the phone would start selling on its website and online partner Amazon on August 4. Also, users can now pre-book the phone even before the sale goes live.
OnePlus Nord has been one of the most awaited phones in recent times, and that is due to the excellent specs inside. The smartphone runs on the latest Snapdragon 765G chipset, which is great for multitasking and gaming. The chipset is one of the first handsets to provide 5G band connectivity. It will start at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs. 27,999 for 8GB + 128GB storage variant and Rs. 29,999 for 12GB + 256GB storage variant. The phone’s base variant will be sold in Gray Onyx colour, whereas the other models will come in two different colours, called the Blue Marble and Gray Onyx. The device will be going on sale through the Amazon E-commerce platform and the OnePlus website, starting August 4. However, users who are planning to buy the base variant will have to wait until September. Only the 8GB and 12GB variant will be sold from August 4.
Those who want to pre-book the device can do it right now from the OnePlus official website. Customers can also pre-book through the Amazon website on July 28. OnePlus has also stated that the phone will come with a discount of Rs 2000 when you pay with American Express card and with offers worth more than Rs 6000 from Jio. The OnePlus Nord has been designed with curved edges and houses a dual front-facing camera on the screen. At the back, it gets a quad-camera setup, with the primary camera having a Sony IMX sensor with Aperture 1.7. As with all OnePlus phones, the performance and camera quality are exceptional and much better than any other mid-range phone category.
The most striking feature of the phone in terms of look is the Marble blue colour. It looks unique and attractive to hold and is very sturdy as well. The phone also gets a bigger battery of 4,115mAh and an AMOLED screen with a better refresh rate of 90Hz. It will be paired with a 30WWarp Charger, charging the phone to 70-80 per cent within 30 minutes. There is no noticeable junk application on the phone and will provide smooth and jitter-free performance. If you are planning to buy a new mid-range smartphone, which provides a premium smartphone performance and a good balance of all the features, then this is a great device to own.
